Matching Madrid’s fencing families with Ukranian fencer kids

How many of us have stared at our TV’s every day, helpless spectators of the horrific events taking place in Ukraine?

These brave citizens are going through a time in their lives that most of us will never be able to fully understand. It is their bravery that inspired us to build the Fencing Peace Caravan project.

We will be traveling to Poland on the 2nd of May and bringing 21 Ukrainian fencers between the ages of 9 and 17 to Madrid, so they can study, train, and have a routine as close as possible to what they had before the war.

The Fencing Peace Caravan Team is currently formed of:

• The Madrid Government
• The Spanish, Ukrainian, and Polish Fencing Federations
• MiAcción NGO and Infancia de Nad NGO
• Universidad Camilo José Cela
• Many fencing families providing homes for all these children
• All the fencing clubs of the Madrid community
• +30 fencers involved, including Olympians from many countries
